Graduation Requirements
These graduation requirements are for students who will be graduating in 2014 or after.
Requirements
- Passage of the Ohio Graduation Test (All Five Parts)
English and Language Arts
Mathematics
- 4 credits
- Must include one (1) credit of Algebra II or the equivalent of Algebra II.
Science
- 3 credits
- Must include one (1) credit in life sciences, and one (1) credit in advanced science in:
- Chemistry
- Physics
- or other Physical Science
- Advanced Biology
- Astronomy
- Physical Geology
Social Studies
- 3 credits
- Must include 1/2 (.5) a credit in American History and 1/2 (.5) a credit in American Government.
Health
Physical Education
- 1/2 (.5) credit
- Students may be exempt if they participate in interscholastic athletics, band, or cheerleading for two seasons (minimum of 60 contact hours). Please check with our office to see if this applies.
Electives
- 5 credits
- Must include either one (1) credit or two 1/2 (.5) credits in: Foreign Language, Fine Arts, Career-Technical Education, Business, Family and Consumer Sciences, Technology, Agricultural Education, or any other core class that is not required.
Additional Requirements
- One (1) Credit
- All students must receive instruction in economics and financial literacy during 9-12 and must complete at least two semesters of fine arts taken any time between grades 7-12. Students following a career-technical pathway or exempted from the fine art requirements (career or vocational school)
Total Credits: 21
