QDA (Quaker Digital Academy) is authorized by the Ohio Department of Education for statewide enrollment into our virtual academy. Founded in 2003 with a central office in New Philadelphia, Ohio. QDA began as a virtual learning option for students located in New Phila and surrounding areas in Tuscarawas County, Ohio. Since 2009, QDA has accepted students from across the State of Ohio. To better serve our student population, we have since opened offices in Berlin, East Liverpool, and Steubenville.

The QDA Adult 22+ Program is a high school diploma option available for students over the age of 22 that need a few high school credits to graduate.

If you are interested in a virtual learning environment, Quaker Digital Academy has been providing a tuition-free online education experience to hundreds of students every school year. With four offices located in New Philadelphia, Berlin, East Liverpool and Steubenville, the staff at QDA is available to assist students and their families before, during, and after the enrollment process.

Our mission is to enhance and facilitate student learning by combining state-of-the-art digital curriculum and instruction with access to local school resources that complement that instruction and prepare students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens.

The Quaker Digital Academy is committed to providing support services to all students and teachers and to providing a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment to all students with disabilities. The Special Services Center monitors to (1) ensure that the special education policies and procedures are in accordance with all federal, state and local mandates, (2) design, implement and evaluate appropriate programs for students with disabilities; and (3) provide technical assistance and staff development opportunities. The Quaker Digital Academy focuses on the consistency and quality of special education programs and related services within the district.


Each year school districts throughout Ohio participate in an effort to identify, locate, and evaluate all children with disabilities, age 3 through age 21. The Quaker Digital Academy provides special education services to approximately 93 students with disabilities, or approximately 7% of the district’s student population. If you have a child or know of a child you suspect may have a disability as described by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA) or Americans with Disabilities Act – Section 504, please contact Mrs. Karp, Director of Special Services, or 330-364-0618.

Title I / IDEA-B FLOW THROUGH NOTIFICATION

Quaker Digital Academy receives notification of their enrollment of federal funds allocated in accordance with the Title I/ Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Public Law 92-142. Utilization of the funds is designed to provide services and programs for disabled students. Persons who wish to comment on how to utilize these designated funds are welcome and encouraged to contact Elaine Karp, in the Special Education Department at the QDA Office in New Philadelphia.
