Google Docs is a web based document editor that allows students to compose a written response without additional software. To access Google Docs, you may go to and create a new blank document. Once you are ready to submit the assignment to your teacher, you may download a copy of the document to your computer system by:

Press the File button in the top left corner:

Select Download from the drop-down menu:

There are multiple options available. Typically, teachers will accept Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF (.pdf). Please check with your teacher for acceptable formats.

Once you select a file type, the document will download to your Downloads folder by default. You can then select the file and upload through the submission box for the assignment.
