We have put together answers to a few common problems that you may experience:

I'm over 18, how do I apply?

Please use our over 18 application.

Do I have to enter an email address for the emergency contact?

No. Please enter if you wish. 

I applied, now what happens? 

You will get an email (if you didn't get an email check your SPAM or Junk mail folder) with your account credentials and another email stating that we received your application. Additional emails will be delivered as your application is process. 

IMPORTANT: We require an additional enrollment packet to be completed. You will receive a link to this packet once you complete an application. You will not be considered for enrollment until this packet is complete.

QDA requires Proof of Ohio Residency. You may upload the documentation in Maestro or email to

Need Help? Step-by-step directions are below.

Step 1: A guardian account must be created for students under 18. For students over 18, the guardian account section is optional. It's important that you use a valid email address so we can provide status updates via email. If you do not have an email address, please visit or any other free email service provider and create an account.

Step 2: After you complete all of the required fields, select next.

Step 3: Complete all of the required fields for your student:

Step 5: Enter information for the last school your student attended. If your student attended multiple schools over the past two years you may add a second school by pressing the "add a secondary institution" link on the right.

Step 6: You may create a secondary guardian account on this page. You must enter emergency contact information. You may enter your information again if you wish but please add (contact) after your first name. You enter if you don't want to provide an emergency contact email address.

Step 7: Please review the terms and conditions and digitally sign.

Step 8: You may upload electronic copies of any of the required documents if you have them. Otherwise, QDA will upload them as we receive them from your previous school:


Step 9: Once you get to this page your student's application has been submitted. If you wish, you may create another application for another student by selecting the Add Student button. The system will automatically pre-fill most of the data to save you time.

Step 10: Check your email. You will receive two emails. The first email will have your account information so you can sign back in. The second email will confirm that we have received your application. After we have obtained all of the required documentation you will be sent a third email.

Founded in 2003, QDA is a non-profit, public online school that offers K-12 students across the state of Ohio the opportunity to have access to a cutting edge online education at no cost.

QDA offers a variety of exceptional and accredited curricular options to meet the individual unique needs of a student. Furthermore, QDA’s teaching staff is comprised of caring, highly qualified and licensed teachers, counselors, and administrators who are ready to help students on their educational journey.

Any student residing in Ohio may enroll with QDA at one of our office locations in New Philadelphia, Berlin, East Liverpool, or Steubenville; or online using our application system.

QDA is a state-funded school so students may attend QDA for free. QDA provides students with a computer system and internet reimbursement.

QDA has been online since 2003 and over the years we have developed a learning environment built for student success:

  • Options available for elementary, middle, and high school students
  • Instructional Supervisors are available to assist students and their families, monitor student progress, and ensure the student is successful.
