Quaker Digital Academy is seeking a compassionate and student-focused Family Advocate to support student success through PBIS initiatives, family engagement, and behavioral and social-emotional support services. This part-time position works collaboratively with students, families, and staff to help remove barriers to academic achievement while promoting student wellness and engagement in an online learning environment.

Overview
This role supports student success by helping implement and manage PBIS initiatives, providing behavioral and social-emotional support, and strengthening family engagement within an online school environment. Responsibilities include monitoring student wellness and attendance concerns, facilitating student support groups, coordinating interventions and community resources, and collaborating with staff to remove barriers to academic success. The position requires strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills, along with experience supporting at-risk youth and working in virtual learning platforms.
Note: Hours of work may vary Sunday through Saturday and may include evenings and weekends as required for the Families/School’s needs.
PBIS & Student Support
- Assist with implementation and ongoing development of QDA’s PBIS framework and initiatives.
- Review Tier 1 PBIS concerns and help coordinate referrals to Tier 2/Tier 3 interventions.
- Monitor and support students identified through PBIS data, attendance concerns, lack of communication, or behavioral/social-emotional needs.
- Participate in PBIS meetings, student support meetings, and problem-solving discussions.
- Help coordinate wraparound supports and community resources for students and families when appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interventions, communication, referrals, and follow-up services.
Family Communication & Outreach
- Communicate with families regarding attendance concerns, lack of communication, student disengagement, behavioral concerns, and student wellness needs.
- Conduct outreach calls, virtual meetings, and follow-up communication to improve student and family engagement.
- Assist families in accessing school and community resources.
- Help strengthen relationships between families and school staff through positive, solution-focused communication.
Student Wellness & Group Facilitation
- Facilitate individual check-ins and small groups focused on teen-related topics such as:
- Anxiety and stress management
- Motivation and goal setting
- Peer relationships
- Attendance and school engagement
- Conflict resolution
- Emotional regulation
- Life skills and self-advocacy
- Promote a positive school climate and student connectedness within the online learning environment.
- Support students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges that impact academic success.
Collaboration & School Support
- Collaborate with staff to identify barriers to student success and develop intervention strategies.
- Assist with PBIS incentive activities when appropriate.
- Participate in professional development and required training related to PBIS, trauma-informed practices, student wellness, and behavior support.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the administration.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or related field with appropriate Ohio License
- Experience working with at-risk youth, behavioral interventions, family engagement, or mental health supports preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Comfortable working within virtual platforms such as Zoom and Google Workspace.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
